A Complete List of Tokina’s Lens Price Hikes in the U.S.

In June, Tokina announced that it would increase the prices of certain lenses in the United States, and today the company provided a detailed list of those price changes.

The company explained that due to recent “cost increases” of raw materials and components, the cost of production has increased significantly. Although he did what he could to absorb these increases, Tokina says he was no longer able to take it and had to reprice all of his lenses.

The result is that a large majority of Tokina lenses available in the United States have gone up in price to some degree. The company provided a short list of affected lenses in June, but so far has not revealed what increase customers should expect.

Below is a full list of the affected lenses and the price changes the company has provided to PetaPixel.

As noted above, almost all lenses are increasing in price, although there are exceptions. It is also important to note that Tokina mentioned that a set of lenses would be discontinued as part of this price change in the original announcement, which includes several atx-i, atx-m and AT-X lenses . However, as seen above, these lenses are still listed but have new product codes and pricing. In effect, these particular lens models are discontinued and replaced with a new set designated “Renewed Plus”.

These new Renewed Plus lenses are identical to the current lenses on the market today and the only difference consumers will see is the addition of a sticker on the packaging that identifies them as the “renewed” model and the addition of a cloth for glasses inside the box. (example of what this looks like above). These models technically replace older models, but are more of an adjustment on the manufacturer and dealer side.
